Giving the project a shape

After doing some brainstorming we created a mind map to structure our thoughts in order to gain a way to align our presentations.

The contents of the mind map were more suitably collected in a table.

After this the main points for the evaluation of the presentation were worked out:

What to keep in mind for the presentation:

Structure:

  • Introduction
  • Main part
  • Conclusion
  • Outlook

Preparation:

  • Prepare your script and a handout.
  • Practise the presentation at home.
  • Be sure that everything technical works (e.g. beamer, overhead projector, …).

Presentation:

  • Keep eye contact with the audience.
  • DO NOT READ FROM YOUR SCRIPT!!!
  • Speak slowly and clearly, not monotonously.
  • First think, then speak.
  • Mind your body language.
  • Know your VOCABULARY!

Media:

  • Use reasonable media that make it easier for the audience to follow your presentation.
  • Be able to handle your media.
  • Create a 1-2 page handout for the class.

The points above have been collected in the table below to establish the vertices of the presentations’ evaluation. Each student was handed out this table beforhand to be able to prepare the presentation as good as possible.
